# Launch Gate Check: which gates does your app face?

> A free check that names every App Store, Google Play, security and Australian regulatory gate in your app's path, with the guideline number for each.

- Type: page

The check asks up to sixteen multiple-choice questions — where the app ships, how it was built, whose developer accounts publish it, how people sign in and pay, what it does with health and money, who it is for, what tracking it carries, and who buys it — and returns a gate map. Each gate is marked "Applies" or "May apply", cites the guideline or law it comes from, and says who decides whether you clear it.

Gates covered:

- App Store: minimum functionality (4.2), code downloaded after review (2.5.2), who the seller is (4.2.6, 5.1.1(ix)), reviewer demo account (2.1), account deletion (5.1.1(v)), social login (4.8), in-app purchase (3.1.1), user-generated content (1.2), privacy label, App Tracking Transparency (5.1.2(i)), kids category (1.3, 5.1.4), medical apps (1.4.1)
- Google Play: 12 testers for 14 days on new personal accounts, target API level, data safety and account deletion, health and financial declarations
- Security: access control, enterprise security questionnaires, APRA CPS 234 and CPS 230 for suppliers to banks, insurers and super funds
- Australian regulation: TGA software as a medical device, the Privacy Act, automated-decision disclosure from 10 December 2026, the Consumer Data Right, age assurance under the Online Safety Act codes, WCAG 2.2 AA and the Disability Discrimination Act

It names which gates apply. It does not look at the build or say whether the app passes — that is the Launch Gate Audit. Nothing entered is stored; answers live in the share link.

## About the check

### Is this an App Store readiness score?

No. It names the gates your answers put in your path and stops there. Whether your build clears them is decided by a reviewer looking at your binary, and nothing you can type into a form settles that. A score that said "ready" would be a promise nobody can make.

### Do you store my answers?

No. The map is worked out in your browser, and your answers live only in the share link. If you ask us to email it, we send it and keep no copy.

### Can I paste these guidelines into Claude and fix them myself?

For the gates marked "You can check this yourself", yes, and you should. The ones marked as decided by a reviewer, the TGA or a buyer's security team are judgement calls on your actual build and wording. Claude can explain the guideline; it can't see your build, and it isn't the reviewer.

### What does the Launch Gate Audit add?

It tests the gates on your build, on real devices, and a senior engineer validates every finding. You get a two-bucket report of launch blockers and after-launch work, and a fixed-price quote for the fixes. $3,500–$5,500 AUD fixed, five business days.
